The earth has been devasted for more than a hundred years by pandemics, pollution, wars, and natural disasters, known as the Age of Chaos, decimating the population and splintering humanity into well-defended megacities. The survivors revive humanity over the next hundred plus years into a thriving, harmonious world-centric society, Concordia. But the collective psychological scars of the past run deep. Now, an uncontrollable psychic affliction is infecting over half the citizens of Concordia, tormenting them with torrential waves of the thoughts and emotions of others.
Tavera is a compassionate wise woman who spans the two dominant cultures on Concordia, the ubiquitous integral Guilds Society and the mystical Ayndo Order. Tavera knows the well-developed psychic abilities of the Ayndo could help the guilders control theirs, but they’re highly suspicious of non-Ayndo. Opposing her efforts, the Ayndo leader, Cerne, who despises the guilders, will do anything to control Concordian politics and keep the Ayndo and guilders apart. Tavera joins efforts with others who share a desire to heal the collective shadows spawned from the unrelenting psychic chaos including, an unorthodox scientist, a great Ayndo sage and his two primary students, an empathic social mediator, an artist, and an Ayndo healer. Their efforts are tenuous until they make a discovery that changes everything…
SynShen integrates ideas from unorthodox science theorists, spiritual/mystical paths, integral philosophy and psyche shadow work woven to form a whole greater than its parts.
Elements
Elements
Elements of SynShen were inspired by the theories, research and exploration of many unorthodox scientists including, but not limited to, David Bohm, Rupert Sheldrake, Buckminster Fuller, Ervin Laszlo, and those involved in the development of Chaos Theory.
There have been many paths humans have used to explore their consciousness and relationship with the kosmos. The writing of SynShen was influenced by this basic impulse with the intent to be inclusive of its numerous manifestations.
Integral philosophy has developed a perspective inclusive of consciousness, culture and Nature as an inseparable unity that evolves over time. It works well as the philosophical basis of the worldcentric society in SynShen.

Bio
I have had several careers, including gemologist, environmental/wetland scientist and high school science teacher. I have a BS in Environmental Science. Throughout my life I have studied and done daily practices under lineage teachers and with lineage groups associated with several spiritual/mystical paths including, Gnosticism, Hermetic Qabalism, Tibetan Buddhism, Shambhala and Taoism. Others I have studied from a comparative perspective. I studied Yang Style T’ai Chi Ch’uan with a teacher for seven years and continue to practice. My study of Integral philosophy has provided me tools to form a more inclusive and integrated map of the world I experience within me and outside me, recognizing all conceptual approaches are limited perspectives of the undefinable mystery of All.
